April was on and off nice weather for Chicagoland.  It allowed for working the gardens and getting some early plantings in.  Beets, strawberries, lettuce varieties, spinach, parsley, carrots, broccoli, brussels sprout, early peas. Square foot gardening at it's best.  Mel Bartholomew, the author of ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING is a genius!
